HAZARAPHULKARI

About Us

Hazara Phulkari

Hazara Phulkari exists to offer genuinely handmade Phulkari shawls to people who value how textiles are made, not just how they look.

The collection is small by design. Each piece takes time, and we would rather offer fewer shawls we can speak about honestly than a large catalogue we cannot.

Why We Work This Way

Hand embroidery deserves a proper conversation

Machine-made textiles now imitate traditional embroidery closely enough that many buyers cannot tell the difference. We think the answer is not louder marketing but clearer explanation.

That is why there is no cart on this website. When you enquire about a piece we can tell you what it is, how it was worked and what to expect from it, and you can ask anything you want before deciding.

It is a slower way to sell, but it matches the way the work itself is made.

What We Stand For

Four things we hold to

Handwork only

Every piece we offer is embroidered by hand. We do not present machine embroidery as handwork.

Honest description

We describe pieces as they are, including the natural variation that comes with hand embroidery.

Conversation, not checkout

Enquiries are answered personally so you can ask questions before committing to anything.

Respect for the maker

The time embedded in a shawl belongs to the person who embroidered it, and we work in a way that recognises that.

We are happy to answer questions
