Hazara Phulkari offers handmade Phulkari shawls created through traditional hand embroidery. Each piece is worked slowly, motif by motif, on a woven ground fabric.
We do not sell online. Every shawl is discussed directly, so you know exactly what you are receiving before anything is agreed.

The Craft
Phulkari is worked by counting threads in the weave of the fabric and placing each stitch in relation to the last. There is no printed outline to follow, which is why the craft depends so completely on the experience of the embroiderer.
A single shawl may take weeks of intermittent handwork. Slight variations in spacing and tension are natural to the process, and they are what give each finished piece its individual character.

Discuss Your RequirementsEvery piece is embroidered by hand, stitch by stitch, without mechanical shortcuts.
Motifs are worked using counted-thread methods carried through generations of practice.
Because the work is done by hand, no two shawls in the collection are identical.
We work through conversation rather than checkout, so questions are answered properly.

Jasti Phulkari
Jasti Phulkari is defined by the precision of its counted stitches. Motifs are built in tight alignment with the weave, which means the pattern must be held in mind throughout rather than drawn beforehand.
Seen from a distance the shawl reads as pattern; seen closely it becomes a record of the hours behind it.
